Bjorn Franke is a sports photographer and entrepreneur based in Buffalo, New York. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, he earned his degree in Entrepreneurial Management while building his photography career and entrepreneurial ventures, including Bjorn Franke Photography and his hockey lace startup, Gator Lace.

Bjorn began his career as the Student Photographer for the University of Minnesota, where he covered the university’s 21 athletic programs. His role included game-day photography, media days, team travel, and event photography for the university’s athletic department.

He has photographed for the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), capturing game action, behind-the-scenes content, and social media imagery during the league’s inaugural seasons. He also serves as the League Photographer for Da Beauty League, covering NHL, AHL, and NCAA athletes throughout the summer.

His work has been featured by ESPN, Bleacher Report, and the NHL, and in 2023 he was named a finalist in the World Sports Photography Awards in the ice hockey category.

In 2026, Bjorn covered the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in Buffalo for NCAA Photos. His responsibilities included game coverage, live FTP image transmission, and operating remote cameras throughout the tournament.

Bjorn recently concluded a photography internship with the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits. During the 2025–2026 season, he captured NHL & NLL games, team events, and promotional content.

After working with the Buffalo Sabres, Bjorn moved back to Buffalo to join the Buffalo Bills as a full-time photographer. He travels with the team, covers games, manages digital assets, and photographs studio sessions, events, and other team content.

Outside of photography, Bjorn enjoys distance running, astrophotography, traveling, and exploring new creative projects.
